La Plaza Park Refurbishment

Hampton Pitches In La Plaza Park is another Roadside Attraction located along Route 66 in San Bernardino. This park was established in 1945 to honor the veterans of World War Two. For years to come it would be a welcome stopping off place for travelers on the Mother Road through here.
Hampton Inn wanted to recognize this fact and help the City of San Bernardino with its refurbishment of this grand old park.

Hampton Plants the Garden

Hampton Employees The West Covina Hampton Inn employees were out in full force planting flowers and helping paint the restroom and wall of the park.

La Plaza Park: Roadside Attraction

The dedication of the new sign was a big event. The Over the Hill Gang vintage automobile club came out to support our efforts and added that special touch with their beautiful classic cars.

La Plaza Roadside Attraction

San Bernardino Mayor Judith Valles came to applaud our efforts and receive a parking ticket(?) from one of San Bernardino’s finest. I guess not even the Mayor can park on the park grass J
